Wingathon, an intellectual property of Sovereign Events, is a marathon event organized to commemorate Women's Day. It aimed to promote gender inclusivity by encouraging the participation of women and men of all ages, including children as young as 12 years. The inaugural Wingathon Marathon witnessed over 500 participants from Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra, such as Palghar, Satara, and Ratnagiri. Sovereign Events took on the challenge of organizing this event, despite facing initial difficulties in securing sponsorships due to it being their first attempt.
Sovereign Events encountered challenges in securing sponsorships for Wingathon, as brands were initially hesitant to invest in an untested event. The team persevered, striving to attract sponsors to ensure a grand event and offer attractive prize money to the winners. They also faced logistical complexities in managing a large-scale marathon event, coordinating with participants, sponsors, and the NGO partner, Indian Development Foundation (IDF).
Through relentless efforts, Sovereign Events successfully brought on board renowned brands such as Centro, Club Mahindra, Decathlon, Dreamz Entertainment and Tiwari College of Engineering as event sponsors. This achievement paved the way for executing the marathon event to its fullest potential. Sovereign Events ensured that the sponsors received maximum brand visibility and engagement throughout the event, creating a mutually beneficial partnership.
The execution of Wingathon was flawlessly managed by Sovereign Events. The team meticulously planned and organized the event, taking into account all logistical aspects, including route mapping, participant registrations, safety measures, and on-site facilities. By collaborating with IDF as the NGO partner, Sovereign Events was able to leverage their expertise and resources to further enhance the event's impact.
To add a special touch to the event, Sovereign Events invited Shri Vinayak Narale Sir, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Mira Bhayandar, as the Chief Guest. As a gesture of support and appreciation, ACP Narale raised the flag, felicitated the winners, and actively participated as a marathon runner. This inclusion of a real national hero resonated with the participants, their families, and the sponsors, enhancing the overall event experience.
The entire Wingathon event was covered by Awesome TV, ensuring extensive media coverage and exposure. This enabled the event to reach a wider audience, spreading the message of gender inclusivity and promoting the cause behind the marathon. By involving the community and highlighting the efforts of IDF, Sovereign Events contributed to a positive social impact beyond the event itself.
Through efficient execution and meticulous planning, Sovereign Events ensured the success of Wingathon. The event not only provided an empowering platform for women and men of all ages to participate but also created lasting memories for all involved. Participants, their families, and sponsors appreciated the seamless organization, engaging activities, and the meaningful cause behind the marathon.
